A rite of summer - Ada High School band camp. It's going on right now and the band is tuning up for football games, parades and competitions.

Can't you just feel the tempo? Here's a quick look at some band camp photos and a video.

For our 4-H meeting on July 28, first we practiced showmanship. Raina England did a 4-H project on volleyball. Levi England did his on cautions of welding. Justin England did his on types of catfish in Ohio. 

Livestock judging is on August 7th from 9 to 5 at Hardin county fairgrounds, 4-h swim party is august 5th. August 10th we will be having a petting zoo for the community at the F&M picnic.

Our next meeting will be at Hazelton’s to practice showmanship at 6:00p.m August 25.

The last meeting of the Hootenannies 4-H Club was held at the farm of Advisor Grant Mizek.  It was opened by president Laura Spradlin.  Megan Williams asked for members' favorite zoo animal for roll call.

The Hardin Co Triathlon was discussed.  Members competing will be Landyn Hijma, Seth Davis and Preston Brien.

Myrna McCurdy called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12:01 p.m. in Conference Room #7, McIntosh Center, ONU.

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress

The member birthdays of Harold Friesner, July 21; John Berg, July 25; and Bob McCurdy, July 29 were noted.

It was noted that recent Chicken BBQ was a very successful project.

Ada High School cheerleaders will compete in two area county fairs this month, according to Jami Dellifeld. Here's the information:

 

Seneca County Fair - Saturday, July 27
100 Hopewell Ave, Tiffin, in the new Entertainment Building
Competition begins at 10 a.m.
Admission is $6

Auglaize County Fair - Monday, July 29
Auglaize County Fairgrounds at Grandstand
1001 Fairview Drive, Wapakoneta
Competition begins at 7:30 p.m.
Admission to Grandstand is free. Must to pay to enter fair.

ENTIRE LIST OF WINNERS IS ON AN ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY

Approximately 380 4-H Projects were judged at the Community Building at the Hardin Co. Fairgrounds in Kenton on Wednesday, July 17.  Many Ada youth were among those who had projects judged.

Project judging is an annual event for youth who carry non-livestock projects. All 4-H members are required to participate in judging as a part of the steps they follow to complete their 4-H projects.
