All three members are ONU law grads

By Monty Siekerman
The Third District Court of Appeals, consisting of three judges who are all ONU law graduates, heard oral arguments in a criminal case and a civil case out of Hancock County when they met at the law school today (Tuesday).

The court has been meeting at Ohio Northern each January for more than 30 years to give the law students and the public a better understanding of the appellate process.

And, yes, there was security because the cases are the real thing, not practice. The court has had ONU law graduates comprise the majority of the court for many years.

Kids could make snowmen outside or in the warmth of the Ada Public Library on Tuesday morning. The inside snowmen consisted of marshmallows glued to paper during craft time at a story hour for preschoolers. Meet Joey. Joey is an 8 year old boxer. Joey is available now. Can you offer Joey his forever home?

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.
