The Hardin County Crime Task Force served a search warrant today at 501 W. Zimmerman St. in the Village of Forest. The warrant had been issued as part of an investigation into the illegal sale of prescription medication.
The search resulted in the seizure of $3,740 cash and a significant quantity of prescription pills.
Minor Curl, of that address, was arrested on drug trafficking charges and transported to the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion.
It appeared to be a young cow, probably less than 6 months old on the way to an auction. It ran across Main by Quest Financial and First United Methodist Church, into a backyard on Highland where it was cornered.
The trailer owner placed a rope around the cow's neck and led it back into the trailer.
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office reports that it responded to a crash that found a 14-year-old runaway from Cridersville was involved in a single car accident at SR 31 and CR 265 which is between Kenton and Mt. Victory. The auto had been stolen from a residence in Auglaize County.
The youth failed to negotiate a turn, traveled off the north side of the road, through a yard, and crashed into a tree near a creek and bridge.
The youth was released to the custody of the Cridersville Police Department.
SCAM ALERT! The Sheriff's Office has been made aware of a scam where an individual receives a call stating that becasue of the person's good character and being a model citizen that Walmart, Apple and an out of state bank have partnered to provide the person with a cash award. The award is claimed by the person purchasing Apple gift cards at Walmart, then calling a specified phone number where the gift card IDs are provided to the "program representative"; afterwards, the cash value of the card(s) will supposedly be sent to the person being scammed. Five people were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of SR 235 and SR 81 at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday. None of the injuries were life threatening.
A red SUV driven by Lisa Karn, 55, of Findlay collided with a black pickup driven by Daniel Nash, 16, of rural Ada. Karn was cited for running a red light.
Transported to Lima Memorial Hospital by Ada EMS were Karn and four of her passengers, Madison Melton, 11, Alexis Amsler, 10, Alexavier Amsler, 7, and McKayla Butler, 9, all of Findlay.
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office has received a $29,000 grant from the federal government to pay overtime to deputies and related expenses for traffic enforcement, especially impaired driving.
