That's right. The 101st annual Ada Farmers' and Merchants' Picnic is coming to a town near you soon. This year's picnic is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 8-9.
Ada’s summer street program is in full gear this month.
The program includes a mix of curb and approach work and street resurfacing. Here’s the list of streets on the program:
• Grand Street from State Route 81 to McIntosh Terrace
• South Simon Street from East Lima Avenue to East Lincoln Avenue
• East Dobbins Avenue from Main to Simon Street
• East University Avenue from Main to Ream Street
• Gilbert Street from College Avenue to the railroad
• East College Avenue from Main to first alley east of Main
• Central Avenue from Main to end of street
In addition, major reconstruction work is in progress on East Lima Avenue.
A horse on Ada's Main Street? The last one trotted through town decades ago. The horse has returned on Main Street. This one is in the window of Artists Boutique on Main, 117 S. Main St. It's ready to saddle up and ride off into the sunset.
Look at all those August and September activities planned in Ada.
For starters, there's the Lincoln Highway Buy Way garage sale, the 101st annual Farmers' and Merchants' Picnic and lots of school events (new teacher day is Aug.12).
Ada's Community Highlights August and September calendar is now on the Icon. It's in an easy-to-print format so that you can keep track of everything happening in 45810.
