FROM WWW.BLUFFTONICON.COM__The Bluffton Emergency Medical Service received special recognition at the October 24 Allen County Safe Community Awards. EMS Chief Noah Babcock accepted the award, which honored the organization for its adoption of antibiotic prophylaxis for open fractures. The award was presented at an annual awards luncheon hosted by Lima FOP Lodge #8 and the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition.
Ada, Ohio resident Luke Gross was sentenced to 6-9 years in prison by Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Terri Kohlrieser on Friday, November 7. Gross was convicted of aggravated robbery, with charges coming from a July 2025 Circle K gas station robbery in Lima.
The Lima News reported that the gas station cashier was threatened with a large screwdriver by a man in a black mask. Gross was found riding a bicycle and carrying the items stolen from the scene.

Performances of "After the Blast" will take place at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 13-15, and at 2:30 p.m., Nov.16, in College Hall, Ramseyer Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens, Bluffton faculty and staff and non-Bluffton students. Bluffton University students can enjoy the play for free. NOV 3 MEDIA RELEASE__The Ohio State University Extension Agronomic Crops team is hosting an online, self-paced course for Certified Crop Advisers to earn CEU credits.
This course is also great for K-12 educators to earn continuing education credits and anyone wanting to expand their knowledge of agronomics. The course is designed as a series of seven videos, each with a five-question quiz.
You can earn up to 5.0 CEU credits (CCAs) or 0.50 CEU credits (K-12 education educators) upon completing all seven modules and quizzes with a passing score.
