Ada Visiting Nurses and Community Health Professionals (CHP) are hosting a community blood drive on Monday, Nov. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at CHP's conference room, 1200 S. Main St.

The Ada Exempted Village School District Parent-Teacher Conferences for students in grades K-12 is Monday, Nov. 25 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to Tracy Breidenbach, K-8 guidance counselor.

Students will only attend school on Monday, Nov. 25 that week. There will not be school on Tuesday, Nov. 26, or Wednesday, Nov. 27 for conferences or Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29, for Thanksgivingbreak.

All conferences will be scheduled using SignUp.Com this year.  Information has been shared with parents, but can also be found on the school's website.  All parents are encouraged to attend and discuss their child’s progress.

Alger Public Library announces the following holiday hours and closings: 

  • On Wednesday, Nov. 27, the library will close early at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until Monday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m.
  • On Monday, Dec. 23, the library will close early at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until Thursday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m.
  • On Tuesday, Dec. 31, the library will close early at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until Thursday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. 

Hosted by Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center Nov. 8

St. Rita’s Medical Center  will hold its Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium Friday, Nov. 8, at the St. Rita’s Conference Center, 718 W. Market St., Lima.

It will be a day of presentations and discussion to emphasize the importance and advantages of robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., with various presentations going from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

All local levies on the Nov. 5 ballot in Ada and Liberty Township passed, according to unofficial results from the Hardin County board of elections.

Linda Mason is a clear winner in the Ada council race with 322 votes.

The race for the second seat shows a 1 vote lead by Sheila Coressel (221) over Ken Lauria (220), with Kathy Cole receiving 204 votes.
