STL A FOX - The Icon spotted this plate on a silver Ford Escape in an ONU campus parking lot.

Michael Harnishfeger, Ada village zoning inspector, released to the Icon the building permits for the first quarter of 2019. They follow:

Jan, 7 - Dennis Garbrecht, handicapped ramp, 302 E. North Ave.
Jan. 17 - Christopher Short, duplex, 931 S. Main St., estimated at $20,000
Feb. 22 - Joe Campbell, 515 N. Liberty St., storage shed
March 11 - Deb Curlis, 811 S. Johnson St., fence

Harnishfeger said that in 2018 Ada had 56 building permits totalling $27,714,407. That figure included the Ohio Northern University engineering building, estimated at $25,000,000. Not counting that permit, the 2018 total was $2,714,407.
 

 

State testing at Ada begins this week for students grades 3-10.

This week will be the English Language Arts assessments. Here is this week's schedule:
Monday - ELA part 1 grades 3-6 and 9-10
Tuesday - ELA part 1 grades 7-8
Wednesday - ELA part 2 grades 3-6 and 9-10
Thursday - ELA part 2 grades 7-8

Saturday, April 27, is your opportunity to disposed of expired or unused prescriptions

A Medication Disposal Day will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the parking lot between Rite Aid and Cosi, Ada.

Those who want to dispose of expired or unused prescriptions as well as over-the-counter medications may give them to law enforcement officers at that time. 

The meds will be disposed of in a safe, legal, and environmentally conscious way.

Three addition locations on April 27 will collect medications. They include:
Hardin Memorial Hospital
Medical office parking lot
75 Washington Boulevard
Kenton

SR 81 will close east of Ada for 1 week for water line repair project

Watch for more traffic through Main Street Ada the week of April 22.

State Route 81 just east of State Route 235, within the village of Ada, will close  Monday, April 22, for approximately one week for a water line repair project, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Local drivers will create their own detour paths around State Route 81 on the east side of Ada.

Check the map below - Meanwhile, ODOT's official detour route brings traffic through Main Street (SR 235) then to SR 309-701 on to US 68 and back to SR 81. Work is being performed by the Village of Ada.

The Ada school board will hold its regular April meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 18, in the board room, 725 W. North Ave., Ada.
