Here’s some addition interesting viewer facts covering 2018:
An average of 5,414 individuals view the Icon in a typical 30-day period. The average time spent on the Icon by a viewer is 1 minute 16 seconds.

Employee spotlight features Amber Wolber

The January issue of "The Ada Articles," Vancrest's monthly newsletter is now posted on the Icon.

The newsletter includes a listing of events at Vancrest plus features on several December events. This month's employee spotlight is on Amber Wolber, resident assistant for Vancrest's assisted living.

The newsletter is attached at the bottom of this story.

The guide says what's acceptable, what's not, and lists pickup dates

Everything you need to know about refuse and recycling in the Village of Ada is here.

The 2019 village refuse and recycling guide is available at the village offices and is on the Ada Icon (attached below).

The guide show recycle pickup dates. It lists the paper, plastic, cartons, metals and glass that residents may recycle. It also lists items that are not to be recycled.

K-2 sessions for boys planned this winter

Calling all future Bulldog boys basketball players.

A Kindergarten to second grade boys’ basketball development session is planned this winter.

Sign-ups are underway (see the printer-friendly attached form at the bottom of this story). The program begins on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the 1986 gymnasium. There is no cost to participate.

The sessions take place every other Sunday in January and February:

“These will be developmental sessions focused on fundamentals and all aspects introducing basketball to our young players,” said Dre White, varsity boys’ coach.

Kathy Herfurth, Alger Public Library director, announced new hours and events for the library. Those follow:

Weekday morning hours will begin on Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. Library hours will now be:
Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Weekly library activities for kids at the library include:
• Preschool Story Times, Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

• After School Activity Clubs for schoo-Aage kids and teens, Wednesdays, drop in between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for art, science, cooking, Legos or games.
