U.S. 68 and S.R. 15 southbound ramp set to close through fall 2029

A new ramp configuration on Interstate 75 opened Saturday as part of the reconstruction and widening of the interstate through Findlay and Hancock County.

A new flyover ramp carries I-75 southbound traffic onto U.S. 68/state Route 15 or to Lima Avenue, replaces the existing loop ramp. The new ramp is referred to as a flyover because the ramp is carried over I-75 traffic to make the connection to U.S. 68/state Route 15 or Lima Avenue.

Kirk Slusher, Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 deputy director, said, "We expect the transition to be rather seamless as new signage will clearly direct motorists onto the ramp,” he said.

For overall excellence in Patient Perspective

Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, was recognized today by The Chartis Center for Rural Health (Chartis) and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence in Patient Perspective.

This reflects top quartile performance among all rural hospitals in the nation. Hardin Memorial Hospital is among 18 Ohio rural providers recognized for overall excellence in 2018.

“We are delighted to see Ohio’s rural providers recognized for their continued commitment to performance excellence,” said Clint Koenig, MD, MA, MSPH, medical director for ODH.

Keith Harman, immediate past national commander of the VFW, spoke at Ohio Northern Veterans Day ceremonies on Monday morning. The ONU Veterans Day ceremonies marked not only the annual day set aside to honor and memorialize service men and women past and present but also marked the 100th anniversary of the World War I armistice.

Harman said it was appropriate that the occasion was held near the statue of Dr. Henry Solomon Lehr, the founder of the university and a Civil War veteran. He noted that seven percent of the U.S. population has served in the military, protecting our safety, security, and wellbeing.
