The Ada Kiwanis Club presented its annual $500 donation to the Village of Ada for their tree-planting efforts at the Arbor Day celebration held on Friday morning, April 26, at the Ada Elementary School.
In presenting the check to the Ada Tree Commission, Ada Kiwanis President Joe Ferguson said, “It has been the privilege of the Ada Kiwanis Club to make this annual presentation for the past 39 years.”
The motto of Kiwanis International is “Serving the Children of The World.” “The membership of the Ada Kiwanis Club can think of no better way to serve the children and future adults of our community by making Ada more beautiful with the planting of new trees.”
A Medication Disposal Day will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the parking lot between Rite Aid and Cosi, Ada.
Those who want to dispose of expired or unused prescriptions as well as over-the-counter medications may give them to law enforcement officers at that time.
The meds will be disposed of in a safe, legal, and environmentally conscious way.
Three addition locations on April 27 will collect medications. They include: Hardin Memorial Hospital

A review of the Village of Ada’s water quality record released this week from the Ohio EPA’s drinking water compliance database reveals no evidence of chemical contamination at levels of concern in Ada's aquifer.
The sample year for the report, called the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), is 2018.
The report shows no violations of contaminants from nearly a dozen areas of potential contaminants. Those areas include radium-228, nitrates, fluoride, copper, lead, synthetic contaminant and other potential contaminants.

Her directions: Phillips to Road R, turn on County Line Road to 313, turn left on 313 (also known as Main), turn right onto 235 and then turn right onto 103.

There are several roads closed in town due to flash flooding. The Riley Creek is continuing to rise. It is unknown how high the Riley will get but if you live in flood prone areas you should take your normal precautions. Rain is expected to continue throughout the night making it likely that the Riley Creek will flood out of its banks.
