Two Ada locations on this year's tour: The Inn at ONU and the Milks residence

The Inn and Mike and Beth Milk's home in Ada are among 7 locations in the county that will be on the Candy Cane Tour of Homes sponsored by Keep Hardin County Beautiful.

Tickets for the Sunday afternoon tour are available at The Inn and New Leaf Garden Center. The Inn will offer hot cocoa and tours of the guest rooms and banquet spaces dressed in holiday finery.

The tour is from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Ada Gatekeepers - new organization at AHS

A new student-led orgainzation is forming at Ada High School called Ada Gatekeepers.

According to Ada Bulldogs Facebook, the group, open to freshmen through seniors, will focus on increasing mental health awareness, reduce the stigma of talking about life problems, and suicide prevention.

Gatekeepers intend to make a positive impact at school, with peers and the Ada community, please see Mrs. Vermillion to sign up by December 5th. The first meeting is Monday, Dec, 11.  Students interested in joining should see Marlene Vermillion.

Yes, it was a Thanksgiving feast at ReStore

What do you do with 8 turkeys, 3 hams, and 20 homemade pies?

You serve them to 233 people who come for Thanksgiving dinner. ReStore Community Center hosted 65 more people than a year ago when it held its annual Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday evening.

The free meal not only feeds people, but also provides an opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors at Thanksgiving time.  All of the trimmings were there: cranberry sauce, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and corn, dinner rolls, salad.

Entertaining young and old alike to packed houses

The Holiday Spectacular closed its four-performance run at the Freed Center on Saturday evening, entertaining young and old alike to packed houses.

Now the festive show moves on to the 1,774-seat Lima Civic Center for four more performances Dec. 1-3. If you missed the Holiday Spectacular in Ada, catch it in Lima.

Tickets are only $5 and are available at all Kewpee locations and the Freed Center box office.
