Then, watch Jimmy Wilson's Historical Geography class videos

Jimmy Wilson's Ohio Northern University Historical Geography class assignment was: Create a short film about a part of local history, either on campus or in the community.

The resulting films focused on four areas (click on each bold face topic to access those videos):

• ONU sport history videos - 5 video - These videos all detail histories of ONU athletic programs and teams, from the emergence of women’s sports to the new soccer stadium. 

USV elementary teachers will be helping at Ada McDonald's on Monday night to help raise money for the school.

They compete against Ada, which had a large number of people turn out last Monday. The schools all share in a percentage of sales, but the school system with the most sales gets an extra $150.

So, now it's up to Rams to try to top Ada's sales between 5-8 p.m. on Monday

How do you keep 70 people in rapt attention for two hours when discussing suicide?

How do you add genuine humor to a talk about suicide?

You speak from the heart, relaying your personal experience of surviving a suicide attempt.

And, you give the talk over and over and over, hoping to save the lives of those who might attempt suicide and save the heart-wrenching grief that comes to family and friends when death from suicide occurs.

Here's the schedule of events and holiday closing times at ReStore Community Center:
• Thursday, Oct. 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m.,
   hand out popcorn  during village trick or treat night.
• Tuesday, Nov. 21, 4 p.m., Thanksgiving meal.
   Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
• Closed, Nov. 22-24.
• Friday, Dec. 8, 6 p.m., Kids Christmas shopping spree.
   Santa will be there, too. • Closed, Dec. 25-Jan. 5.

Ada Historical Society is the newest group in town

Organizers of the Ada Historical Society met for the second time on Monday evening and elected some of the officers, approved a constitution, and discussed several projects the group might undertake.

The next meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, at the Ada Public Library.  All those interested are invited to attend.

Three new people joined the 11 who attended the inaugural meeting: Kathleen Anspach, Seth Krofft, and Rich Meininger.

Rhett Grant was chosen president and Jon Umphress was selected secretary. Ruth Roider was elected a director at-large.

EYE WYN was spotted on a sporty Mitsubishi parked on South Simon in Ada.
