The 8-family yard sale in the 700 block of South Johnson was doing a land office business on Saturday morning...maybe that's because the sale was advertised FREE in the Ada Icon.

Do you plan a yard/garage sale this summer? Check out the Ada Icon ad offer by scrolling down to near the bottom of this Homepage and opening "Contact Us."
Yard sales are popular in small towns: trying to find the oddball thing you want, getting a big bargain, or simply saying "Hi" to neighbors.
Go Fund Me enables persons to make online donations to projects. The following is from the Go Fund Me site. It explains the Ada police department's request for funding.
When this story was posted on Sunday evening $480 had be raised toward a goal of $8,000.
The following is highway construction scheduled within Hardin County.
Bridge repairs
State Route 31 closure between township Road 265 and state Route 273 has been delayed until late summer. Work will begin once a project on state Route 195 south of McGuffey has been completed.
Once under way, the project will close the route for 60 days for bridge repair at two locations: one over Painter Creek just south of township Road 206, the second over Wolf Creek north of township Road 265. Traffic detoured onto state Route 292 and state Route 273 back to state Route 31. Work is being performed by Crossroads Construction, Cambridge. (See detour map 1, map 2)

A few sprinkles at "curtain time" for the Cadets performance brought out a double rainbow for the corps and audience to enjoy on Sunday evening.
A SECOND PHOTO IS BELOW -
The second rainbow can be seen slightly to the right of the main rainbow.
Throughout history there have been many wives tales--some good, some bad--about rainbows.
The Cadets, I'm sure, are hoping the omen in the sky means "good luck" in winning the Drum Corps International competition this year. The group worked diligently at ONU for the past two and a half weeks to take home the top trophy.
