Jami Hall, Ada’s assistant village administrator, was elected president of the Ada Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) at CIC’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 20.

Hall replaces Jim Meyer, Ada village administrator, who served as CIC president for several years. Meyer is now vice-president of CIC. Eileen Peterman was elected secretary and Angela Polachek, treasurer.

Ada elementary will hold its honor roll assembly for 4th and 5th grades for the second nine-weeks at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27. 

The assembly is in the school auditorium.

ReStore Community Center will be closed for painting from Wednesday, Jan. 20, it reopens at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25.

According to ReStore's Facebook page, "To complete our remodeling we will be closed for three days to finish painting the store. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we think you will like the results!"

 

Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's monthly member meeting is at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, according to Deb Curlis, chamber president.

The meeting is open to the public and is at Community Health Professionals. A motivational speaker will give a talk at the meeting.

In additition, at noon will be a ribbon cutting at Century 21 Sunway Realty.

 

 

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce wants to recognized Ada's outstanding business of 2015 and you can help make the selection.

The chamber is currently accepting nominations for the 2015 award. An application form is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

The winner will be announced at the chamber's annual celebration dinner at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Wishing Well in McIntosh Center on ONU's campus.

Cost is $15 per person.

The Ada Alumni Association will hold a "Bowling for Amelia" fundraiser at Norada Lanes, from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, according to Kurt Klingler, of the alumni assocation.

The event benefits Amelia Griffin and her family.

Klingler said that at least one player on each team must be an Ada High School graduate.

This is an adult event featuring:
• 3 games of bowling with t-shirts for teams
• $50 per team (of two)
• Food and drink available for purchase
• Scotch doubles teams
