Visit IRS.gov this summer for all your tax needs

The IRS.gov website is a great resource for free tax help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our many online tools can help make it easier to file and pay your federal taxes.

You can also learn about filing options, check the status of a refund, print tax forms and find out how to contact the IRS.

Here are twelve good reasons to visit IRS.gov this summer.

1. Use the Interactive Tax Assistant.  This tool is a tax law resource that covers a number of topics. The ITA is easy to use as it leads you through a series of questions and provides responses to your tax law inquiries.

Liberty Belles and Boys 4-H food drive Saturday

Liberty Belles and Boys 4-H Club will conduct a drive-thru food drive this weekend. The Club will collect non-perishable food items for the Ada Food Pantry.

The collection point is Hays Insurance parking lot, 123 S. Main St. The food drive takes place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 20.

BVHS to host Nursing College Fair July 26

Blanchard Valley Health System is hosting a nursing college fair Friday, July 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital. The nursing college fair is for high school students interested in pursuing nursing careers as well as current nurses who would like to learn about continuing education opportunities.

Red Cross issues tips to stay safe this summer as temperatures rise

Summer is here, bringing with it dangerous excessive heat. The American Red Cross has steps people can follow to stay safe as the temperatures soar.

“Excessive heat can be deadly; it has caused more deaths in recent years than all other weather events,” said Todd James, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot Counties “We want everyone to stay safe during the hot weather and have some reminders for them to follow when the weather is hot and humid.”

Ada Library has Hardin Beautification Award entry forms

The Keep Hardin County Beautiful Commission is sponsoring a monthly Beautification Award Program this summer.

Categories are:
• Farm/Business,
• Residential and
• Non-Profit.

Deadline for the August awards is July 16. Forms are available at the Ada Library or by calling 419-674-2216. Winners will be honored at the Annual Keep Hardin County Beautiful Banquet in the fall.
