I hope this email finds you somewhere where it is warm. Weather like this reminds me of when I was younger and I ventured out to the barn each evening to do chores when it was extremely cold.
Three clicks is all it now takes to access thousands of documents concerning local historical and genealogical significance at the Ada Public Library, according to Amanda Bennett, director.
"The Ada Public Library recently digitized its entire collection of 104 microfilm reels - donating said reels to the Hardin County Genealogical Society, Kenton - allowing for free and easier access to all 24 hours a day, she added.
Despite January's weather delays, lots of activities take place in Ada schools this month. Here's a list of current activities taken from the school website

• Tuesday, Jan. 28 - Two-hour early dismissal for teacher in-service meetings
SOPHOMORES: If you are interested in possibly attending Apollo next year and would like to visit two programs on Jan. 31, turn in your 41 Blast form to the high school office
The Ada Public Library was recognized as the "community contributor of the year" by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday during the chamber's annual dinner at McIntosh Center. Nearly 50 persons attended.
Deb Curlis, chamber president, presented Amanda Bennett, library director, a plaque to signify the award.
These are the library statistic shared at the event:
In 2013 the Ada Library had:
*125 storytimes with 880 in attendance
*120 K-12th grade programs with 3,3,22 in attendance
*71 adult programs with 771 in attendance
*Visited the 4 Kindergarten and 3 1st Grade classes every week at the Ada Elementary
The Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, and Community Service Awards.
Anyone from Hardin County may be nominated to receive these honors. A panel of judges from Alliance members will make the final decision. The recipients will be revealed Thursday, Feb. 27, the Alliance’s annual meeting held at Ohio Northern University’s McIntosh Center.
The Hardin County Dairy Service Unit will be awarding a scholarship at their annual banquet on Feb. 15. Funds raised from the association’s semi-annual cheese sale are used to support higher education with this scholarship program.
Eligible students must live on a dairy farm, have grown up on a dairy farm, work on a dairy farm, be pursuing a dairy related education, or have shown a dairy heifer or dairy cow project at the Hardin County Fair.
