The nomination period for Ada's Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award for 2013 is now open.
A nomination form is a printer-friendly attachment at the bottom of this story. Copies are also available in in the Village Office. Nominations and completed forms are due by Oct. 18, according to Angela Polacheck of the Village of Ada.
The award will be presented at the 48th annual Town & Gown Banquet Monday, Nov. 4. The evening's festivities will begin with a social hour from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, and tickets will be available soon.

Want a creative way to pay off your Ada Public Librry overdue book fines?
From Monday, Sept. 16, until Friday, Sept. 27, the Ada Public Library will be collecting canned goods and non perishable items to assist the local food pantry, according to Amanda Bennett, director.
Your donation will clear fines of $5 or less from your account (Food donations do not count toward replacement fees).
The library will be closed on Saturday for the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Fest.
Eighteen Central and Executive Committee members and guests met at Henry’s for the September meeting of the Hardin County Democrats. The Committees unanimously endorsed John Patrick Carney for State Auditor and Nina Turner for Secretary of State. Chair Traxler was in Columbus on Monday when Representative Carney announced his candidacy.
Traxler thanked the 12 people who cleaned up and then set-up the fair booth, those who worked all week in the Democrat booth at the Hardin County Fair and then helped to box up everything for next year.
The Community Economic Development Center (CEDC) at Ohio Northern University opens its 2013-14 entrepreneurship workshop series in the Dicke Forum on Thursday, Sept. 26. The workshop will be preceded by a networking event at 5:30 p.m. The workshop will follow the networking event and conclude at 7 p.m.
The topic of the workshop will be “Marketing your product, success and failures. Making the Milestone system work” with Dennis D. Stripe. This event is free and open to the public.
