Bulldog spikers fall to Knights

CONVOY - The Ada volleyball team lost in straight sets at league-leading Crestview Thursday night in a Northwest Conference match.

The 25-11, 25-16, 25-11 loss dropped the Lady Bulldog record to 8-10 overall and 1-4 in NWC play. Crestview improved to 13-1 and 6-0 in the NWC with the victory.

Junior Megan Light led Ada with four blocks and six kills. Classmate Miranda Wills added two kills and 13 digs.
 
Junior Aubrey Madison passed out six assists and made seven digs. Senior Josie Poling compiled a pair of kills and six digs.

Senior libero Kendal Guagenti served one ace and came up with a dozen digs.

Bulldog linksters compete at sectionals

ARLINGTON - The Ada boys golf team ended its season by finishing 12th in the 13-team Div. III sectional tournament at Arlington's Sycamore Springs Golf Course Thursday.

The top three teams and top three individuals not from qualifying teams advanced to compete at the Div. III districts October 3.

Van Buren won the sectional event with 349 strokes, followed closely by Allen East (350) and Bluffton (357).

Zach Miller of Allen East was sectional champion with a score of 38-39=77. A.J. Overmyer of VB tied with Ethan Tanner of fourth-place Carey for tournament second medalist honors, with each posting rounds of 81.

Ada gridders look to get back on track at Delphos Friday

Explosive Bulldog offense has put up 95 combined points in its last two games

ADA - Coming off a wild 70-50 shootout loss to Bluffton, Ada will try to shore up its defense when they visit struggling Delphos Jefferson in week five.

The Wildcats and Ada boast identical 1-3 overall and 0-1 NWC records. After trailing just 13-6 at halftime vs. Crestview last Friday, DJ was outscored 35-0 in the second half to lose its league opener by a 48-6 count.

The Knights rolled up 302 in the second half as they pulled away behind a 28-point outburst in the third period.

Jefferson was held to just 17 second-half yards and a mere 115 total yards overall. Crestview rushed for 458 of their 486 yards  against Delphos.

Boys' soccer: Bluffton beats Ada in NWC showdown

ADA - Visiting Bluffton blanked Ada 3-0 in a battle between Northwest Conference boys soccer co-leaders Tuesday evening at the park pitch.

The loss snapped Ada's seven-match win streak and dropped their record to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1 in the NWC. Bluffton improved to 10-1-1 and 4-0 in the NWC with their 24th consecutive league win.

The game was scoreless through a defensive first half.

Kaden Basil finally broke the ice on a goal five minutes into the second half to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead.

Volleyball: Lady Bulldogs fall to Thunderbirds

LIMA - The visiting Ada volleyball team lost in straight sets at former league foe Lima Central Catholic Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 8-9 with the 25-19, 25-22, 25-14 defeat.

Junior Megan Light led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, 11 digs and six blocks. Junior Miranda Wills drilled four kills, made seven digs and served two aces.

Senior libero Kendal Guagenti came up with 18 digs. Sophomore setter Kirsten Poling passed for a dozen assists and added seven digs.

The Lady Bulldog reserves also lost in straight sets, 2-0.
