DELPHOS - Two Ada spikers were named to the All-Northwest Conference volleyball team in voting conducted by the league coaches recently.
Senior middle Megan Light was named second team All-NWC. The 5-11 Light led the Lady Bulldogs in kills and blocks. She was a first team all-league pick the last two seasons.
Junior setter Kirsten Poling earned honorable mention all-league. She topped Ada in assists and was among the team leaders in blocks and digs.
Ada finished 2-6 in the NWC, good for seventh place in the tough nine-team league.

MANSFIELD - The Ada girls soccer team lost 6-0 at powerful Mansfield Christian in the first round of the Div. III sectionals Tuesday evening.
Ada finished its season 4-12 after the defeat. The Lady Flames improved to 13-3-1 with the victory and advanced to the sectional finals.
Mansfield Christian led 5-0 at intermission.
"It's a tough ending," said Lady Bulldog first-year head coach A.J. Wahlie. "We knew it was going to be a big ask. There was a lot to manage in this game, but the group believed because we've managed a lot in in a lot of other games.

COLUMBUS GROVE - The Ada cross country teams competed in the annual Northwest Conference championship meet Saturday at Columbus Grove.
Host CG won the boys team title with 29 points to easily out-distance second-place Lincolnview (58). Crestview nosed out Bluffton for third-place, 91-93.
The Ada boys finished seventh in the seven-team league meet with 183 points, 31 behind Allen East in sixth with 152.
"We had a great meet," said Ada veteran head coach Josh Klein. "We had several personal records among the group with Melia, Jacob, Robby and Cole and a season personal record from Connor.

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team whipped visiting Tiffin Calvert 9-2 in the regular season finale Thursday night at the park.
The Bulldogs improved to 8-8 with the lopsided victory.
Senior Jacob Poling set a school single-game record with a whopping eight goals to give him 32 on the season.
Senior Ian Dellifield also tied the Bulldog one-game program record with five assists in the blowout win.
Fourth seed Ada hosts Otsego Wednesday, October 21 at 5 p.m. in sectional first round play. The winner then takes on ninth seed Mansfield Christian Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
