Ada travels to Ridgemont on Monday

ADA - Visiting Crestview ran out to a 15-2 lead and went on to defeat Ada 51-17 in Northwest Conference girls basketball action Thursday night.

The purple and gold girls fell to 1-14 and 0-4 in the NWC with the loss, while the Lady Knights improved to 8-5 and 3-2 in league play after the win.
Utilizing a fullcourt press, Crestview outscored Ada 15-2 in each of the first two periods to build an insurmountable lead.

Coulson led the Bulldogs with 11 points

ADA - Seventeen days after their first meeting, the final result was similar between backyard rivals Upper Scioto Valley and Ada in a Monday night makeup contest.

The visiting Rams shot the lights out again to win their annual non-league boys hoop grudge match convincingly, 72-37. The game was originally slated for Jan. 12 before being snowed out.

Red-hot USV raced to a 26-9 margin after one period and stretched the advantage to 45-21 by intermission. The Rams led by as many as 40 points before Ada closed the game on a 7-2 run.

Megan Lubinski and Nolan Huey lead with multiple victories

Freshman Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) won four events to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team to a 149-142 victory at Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at Hammond Natatorium.

The Polar Bears improve to 3-2 overall and are now 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders fall to 5-2, 1-2.

ADA - Visiting McComb outscored Ada 23-0 in the third quarter to break away from a close game and beat the Lady Bulldogs 58-18 in non-league girls basketball action Saturday afternoon.

The purple and gold girls fell to 1-13 with the defeat, while the Lady Panthers improved to 8-3 following the victory.

After Ada rallied within 20-16 late in the first half, McComb reeled off 38 consecutive points to win decisively.

"McComb came out in the second half hyped up, and we were dead," said first-year Bulldog head coach Morgan Bass. "Our first half was encouraging and we stayed active on defense.

Women storm back from 15-point deficit

The Ohio Northern women's basketball program trailed the visiting Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets 30-15 at the halftime break, but outscored the OAC foe 38-16 over the final 20 minutes to send the 150-plus spectators inside the ONU Sports Center home happy on Wednesday evening.

With the come-from-behind victory, the Polar Bears climb to 9-5 overall and to 3-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Meanwhile, Baldwin Wallace drops to 10-4 on the season and to 4-3 against the OAC circuit.

Senior Daniel Donner (Bellville/Northmor) had his first career double-double and senior All-American Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) scored 32 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team in a 90-75 loss at Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday evening at Lou Higgins Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears fall to 4-10 overall and are 0-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow jackets are now 10-4, 4-3.
