Playing at home, the Ada High School boys soccer team lost to Bath 1-0 in a defensive battle on August 22 at War Memorial Stadium.

The Bulldogs fell to 2-1 after suffering their first loss. Bath improved to 1-0-1 with the shutout win.

Bath’s Peyton Liles scored in the opening minutes off a corner kick by Oscar Webb, and the Wildcats’ tough defense made it stand up the rest of the way.

“I have to give credit to Bath for finishing their corner kick,” said Bulldog head coach Aaron Acheson.

McGUFFEY __ The visiting Ada High School football team rallied to score 15 second half points and avoid an upset bid by Upper Scioto Valley in the 2024 season opener on August 23, by a score of 15-14.

Senior quarterback Levi Green converted a clutch 45-yard touchdown run in the final 90 seconds to tie the contest. Ada took the lead for good on Andrew Allen’s critical extra point kick, then clinched the game with an interception.

The Bulldogs start out 1-0 after beating the Rams for a second year in a row in the non-league rivalry lidlifter. Hard-luck USV opens 0-1.

“We are proud of our kids and how they kept fighting,” said Ada head coach Toby Smith. “USV is a good football team, and is well-coached. We feel very fortunate to come away with a win.”

The Ada football program moves to the Blanchard Valley Conference in 2024 led by three-year starting quarterback Levi Green. The team will attempt to meet or surpass the .500 mark and make post-season play for the first time since 2017.

The Ada High School varsity volleyball team served up its season opener at home vs. Kenton on August 20 in the newly-air conditioned varsity gym.

The Ada Exempted Village Schools are inviting veterans and active duty service members to attend the Friday, September 6 AHS varssity football game with free admission.
