Ohio Northern sophomore Josh Mohr (Oregon/Clay) and junior Luke Klinehoffer(Zanesville/John Glenn) have been earned American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Mideast Region honors for the 2018 season.

 

The Polar Bears finished the season with a 27-15 record and advanced to the OAC Tournament for the first time in 18 years under seventh-year head coach Gene Stechschulte.

 

Mohr was named Second Team All-Mideast Region, while Klinehoffer was named Third Team All-Mideast Region.

A school-record 10 Ohio Northern players were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's lacrosse for 2018.

 

The Polar Bears finished the 2018 season with a school-record 14-3 record, won a share of the OAC Regular Season title with a 7-1 record and advanced to the OAC Tournament under third-year head coach Nat St. Laurent.

 

The Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team remained in the top-10 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) pre-championship power rankings, released on Monday afternoon.

The Polar Bears are ranked in the top-10 for the seventh time in eight weekly editions of the rankings.

ONU received 91.16 points in the rankings, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Cal.) is ranked No. 1 with 125.05 points, Williams (Mass.) was ranked second with 114.66 points and UMass Boston rounded out the top-3 with 112.95 points.

The Ohio Northern women's track and field team landed six athletes on the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Div. III Outdoor All-Great Lakes Region list for their efforts during the 2018 outdoor season.

ONU senior National Champion Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) and junior All-American Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls) have each earned Div. III United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honors for the 2018 outdoor track and field season.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast, West – match those used during the cross country and indoor track & field season.

The Ada High School softball team will play Tinora in the regional semi final at 5 p.m. Wednesday May 23, at the Marathon Diamonds, Findlay. All tickets are $7 with no presale, according to Ken Jochims, Ada HS athletic director.

The Ada High School baccalaureate service will take place at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 23. This is a change from the original time of 7 p.m. in order for the girls' softball team to have time to return to Ada after their softball tournament game.
