Ohio Northern is ranked No. 21 nationally among all Div. III schools in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings.

Northern also ranks first in the standings among all Ohio Athletic Conference schools. 

Points are scored in four men's and four women's fall sports relative to their final standings in the NCAA Championships for those eight sports through the completion of the 2017 fall sports.

ONU has scored points this season in men's cross country, women's volleyball, and women's soccer as each team competed in their respective NCAA Tournaments.

RAWSON - Host Cory-Rawson led throughout to post a methodical 63-44 non-league boys basketball win over Ada Wednesday night.  

 

The Bulldogs fell to 2-4 and 0-3 on the road with the defeat, while the Hornets improved to 3-3 with the victory.

 

Ada trailed 16-10 after one period of play. The Hornets widened their lead to 36-21 at the half and stretched it to 51-32 heading into the fourth quarter. Both teams scored 12 in the final stanza to keep the final margin at 19.

 

Sophomore wing Phillip Coulson led Ada with 12 points. Bulldog junior post Connor Frazier added 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

GRANVILLE — Junior Ryan Bruns' (Chickasaw/Marion Local) second consecutive double-double led the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 93-64 road victory at Denison on Wednesday evening at Livingston Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears improve to 6-3 overall, while the Big Red drop to 6-4.

Bruns led all scorers with a 34-point effort and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the team defensively.

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team is ranked No. 14 in the fourth weekly D3Hoops.com coaches poll after jumping one spot in the poll released. After falling in its season-opener, the Polar Bears (8-1 overall, 4-0 OAC) have won eight straight.

Four members of the Ohio Northern men's soccer team have been named Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association for the 2017 season.

Seniors J.J. Fortner (Maumee/Anthony Wayne), Chris Garbig (Wilder, Ky./Highlands), Cory Lains (Zionsville, Ind.) and Mac Tompkins (Fairview, Pa.) all earned the honor.

Fortner, a Pharmaceutical and Health Care Business major, was named First Team Academic All-Ohio and earned his first career Academic All-Ohio honor.

The senior is also a 2-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree.

Seniors Hannah Reich (Howell, Mich.) and Anna Niemeyer (Loveland) and junior Sarah Puntel (Strongsville) all were named Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association on Wednesday afternoon.

Reich and Niemeyer were each named First Team Academic All-Ohio, while Puntel was dubbed a Second Team Academic All-Ohio honoree.

Reich, an Athletic Training major, was named Academic All-Ohio for the first time in her career.

The senior earned the honor after being tabbed a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches this season.
