ADA - The host Ada girls soccer team took a second half lead and held off Delphos Jefferson 3-2 in a Northwest Conference match Wednesday evening.

 

The Lady Bulldog victory improved their record to 4-9 overall and 3-2 in NWC play, good for fourth in the nine-team league standings.

 

DJ fell to 5-7 and 3-3 in league action with the defeat.

 

Ada scored first, but the Wildcats tied it with a goal late in the first half. The Bulldogs netted two unanswered goals after intermission to build a 3-1 lead.

ADA - Ada travels to Crestview in a Northwest Conference showdown Friday that could go a long way toward deciding the league champion.

 

Ada (4-2, 2-1 NWC) whipped visiting Columbus Grove 37-0 in week six to climb back into the thick of the conference title chase.

 

Previously unbeaten Crestview (5-1, 2-1 NWC) was knocked off by visiting Spencerville 49-34 last Friday to create a five-way tie for first place in the league at 2-1.

 

Sophomore Rose Nienaber (Cincinnatti/Oak Hills) and senior Anna Niemeyer(Loveland) each scored as the No. 17-ranked Ohio Northern women's soccer team defeated Otterbein 2-0 on Wednesday evening at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears move to 9-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals fall to 7-2-1, 0-2-0.

Northern has now won seven straight contests and posted its seventh shutout of the season

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team is ranked No. 19 in the first weekly United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll, released on Wednesday.

The Polar Bears (46-6 overall) received 87 points in the poll.

Ohio Northern was ranked No. 17 in the preseason poll and No. 19 in the first weekly poll.

North Central (Ill.) remained in the top spot with 280 points and all eight first place votes, SUNY Geneseo is second with 269 points and Wisconsin-La Crosse is third with 262 points.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Oct. 14 at the Principia (Ill.) Cowbell Classic Pre-National race.

The Ada volleyball team celebrated Senior Night in style by sweeping Spencerville in a Northwest Conference mismatch Tuesday on a special Cancer Awareness Night.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled to victory 25-7, 25-16, 25-14 to improve to 12-7 overall, and they stayed first in the NWC at 6-0. The Bearcats fell to 1-13 and 0-6 in the NWC with the defeat.

The Lady Bulldogs have now won 14 consecutive league matches, and are currently riding a four-match win streak.
