Seniors Tate Humphrey and Carter Paul had career days, leading Ohio Northern to a 56-14 football victory at Marietta Saturday afternoon at Don Drumm Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers fall to 0-6, 0-5.

The victory was also the 100th career coaching win for ONU head coach Dean Paul. In 14 seasons, Paul now has a 100-39 career record. He is 60-27 in nine seasons as Ohio Northern.

Humphrey completed 14 of 21 passes for a career-high 271 yards and 3 TDs and Paul ran 23 times for a career-high 121 yards and three scores.

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team wrapped up its 2012 non-conference schedule on Thursday with a 1-0 loss to Wittenberg at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears fall to 6-4-3 on the season, while the Tigers are now 7-3-2.

The lone goal in the contest came with 37:17 gone in the first half when Kaylee Gialamas scored on a rebound of a shot put up by teammate Grace Winzeler.

Winzeler's shot bounced off the cross bar on a breakaway to set up the goal.

In the second half both teams played very well but neither was able to put the ball in the net.

The Ohio Northern women's golf team ended its 2012 Fall schedule with a fourth place finish at the Indiana U.-East Waterfront Classic Thursday afternoon at the Harbor Links Golf Course.

The Polar Bears will head to their winter break with a 14-18 record.

Northern finished with 404 strokes to finish fourth out of six teams on the par 72, 5905-yard course.

Ursuline won the team title with a 354, Urbana was second with a 375 and Northwestern Ohio was third with a 383.

Sophomore Megan Conley led the Polar Bears by tying for 11th out of 35 golfers with a 97.

Last Friday night, the Ada Bulldogs faced what many considered to be their first challenge of the season against the playoff bid hopeful Crestview Knights in a Homecoming game hampered by nasty weather and less than ideal field conditions.

Nonetheless, the Bulldogs were able to pull away with a glorious 26-21 victory in the closing minutes of the thrilling barn burner, putting the Bulldogs at 7-0 (5-0 NWC) and the Knights at 3-4 (1-4 NWC).

The No. 9 Ohio Northern men's soccer team remained undefeated in the OAC with a 2-0 victory over the Otterbein Cardinals Wednesday afternoon at the ONU Soccer Field.

The Polar Bears are now 13-2-0 overall and sit in first place in the OAC at 4-0, while the Cardinals fall to 4-7-1, 0-3-1.

The Polar Bears quickly got on the board in eighth minute when senior Nate Bascom passed the ball to fellow senior Cameron Johnson who fired a shot in the box to beat the goalie.

This was Johnson's ninth goal of the season.

 Sophomore Allison Fye fired an 89 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team in a tri-match with Northwestern Ohio and Notre Dame (Ohio) on a cold and blustery Wednesday afternoon at Colonial Golfers Club.

The Polar Bears (12-15) finished third with 381 strokes. Notre Dame won the team title with a 365 and Northwestern Ohio was second with a 371.

Fye finished second of 15 golfers for ONU with her 89 on the par 72, 5876-yard course.

Sophomore Megan Conley tied for sixth with a 91, freshman Alex Manno was 11th with a 99 and freshman Courtney Knippen was 12th with a 102 for ONU.
