State Route 81 roundabout construction, bridge replacement
State Route 81 at Thayer Road, east of the city of Lima, will close Monday, Aug. 4, for approximately 90 days for construction of a roundabout at the intersection, and for a bridge replacement between McClure Road and Fisher Road, over Patterson ditch.
TRAFFIC IMPACT
SR 81 will be closed from just west of Thayer Road to Fisher Road.
Thayer Road will be closed from just south of SR81 to Sandusky Road.
Detour SR 81: I-75, U.S. 30 to SR 235 back to SR 81 (see map).
Lester E. Burkett, age 80, of Alger, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at his home.
He was born on July 7, 1945 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late James and Mag (VanHoose) Burkett. On December 6, 1979 Lester married Alma Howard and she survives in Alger.
On July 31, Jeremy Gulban, Publisher & CEO CherryRoad® announced on www.adaherald.com/ada-herald-ceases-publication/ that it was sharing its final edition. Gulban expressed his gratitude to supporters including every "subscriber, advertiser, contributor, or reader."
