The Voices of Ohio coming to Ada for United Methodist benefit concert on Saturday

This weekend The Voices of Ohio provides a benefit concert for the Ada First United Methodist Church that burned down on March 13.Their performance is at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 28, inthe Ada School auditorium.

Mobile Food Pantry in Ada Aug. 21

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 3-5 p.m. there will be a mobile food pantry from the West Ohio Food Bank located at the former Ada First United Methodist Church parking lot. There will be 5,000 pounds of food to give away to the community.

ReStore Community Center is partnering with Ohio Northern University to host this event as part of Ada Civic Engagement Day. On Aug. 21, all first-year ONU students will serve at different locations in the community to meet various needs in the community and raise the visibility of service learning.

All community members are invited to participate in this free food give away. There are no qualifications to receive this food.

Lifeline performs Riley Creek Baptist Church concert Aug. 5

Lifeline will present a concert of sacred music at Riley Creek Baptist Church, rural Ada, at 6 p.m., Sunday,  Aug. 5. 

Lifeline is the music ministry of Amy Wright and Bill Hartman. Their music is described as powerful, dynamic and ministers to the heart and soul of their audiences.

Included in this concert will be special guest soloist Molly Pickett. Riley Creek Baptist Church is located at 4950 Township Road 27 in rural Bluffton.  For more information call 419-326-6361.

March 13 was a day of shock and change for Ada First United Methodist Church
when the members’ beloved church burned down.  Two members of this
congregation, Melanie Woods and Michele Elliott, are also members of The
Voices of Ohio, an exciting and dynamic adult performing vocal ensemble.

To help Ada First, the ensemble has volunteered to perform a benefit concert
on July 28 at 7:00 in the Ada School Auditorium.

Liberty Baptist Church VBS goes for the gold July 16-20

Liberty Baptist Church, 2955 County Road 20  Ada, will hold its Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 16-20. The VBS theme is "Go for the Gold."

According to VBS organizers: "It's time for Vacation Bible School and we're going to the Olympics! You are invited to join us and earn medals, prizes and candy, learn great songs and see skits and puppets! 

"The first 100 participants (ages 5-12 years) will receive a free baseball cap. For more information or transportation call, 567-204-2441 or 419-634-0486.

                        

Six-hour Gospel Singing in the Park on the band shell stage June 30

Gospel Singing in the Park includes performances by a dozen groups from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 30. The event, which includes a chicken barbecue, is held in the band shell at the Ada War Memorial Park on North Park Drive.
