All about Mark Bricker, ONU/Sodexo grounds manager

Mark Bricker, ONU/Sodexo grounds manager, tends a giant pot of annuals that add a splash of color to the Presser Hall entrance.

New this year are several pairs of large pots of flowers, which can be spotted at the walkway entrance between Hill and Dicke, between Wilson and Tilton, and Presser.

Mark, who has been at ONU for about a year, and his grounds crew tend the 342-acre campus that grows in beauty each year, now vying for one of the most beautiful campuses in Ohio.

Gallery for the Arts celebrates second anniversary

It's a place local artists sell their creations

Ruth held an open house Saturday to mark the second anniversary of her store.

The gift shop and gallery for local artists includes pottery, fabric art, folk art, colored pencil sketches, photography (in the form of framed art and greeting cards), wood craftsmanship and jewelry.

Mission u held at Ada United Methodist Church

ONU hosted about 300 Methodists last week during Mission u, an annual school for laypersons, officers, and pastors from the West Ohio Conference. 

Here, Rev. Jeanine L. Walker places a conference poster in McIntosh Center. She served as dean of the school. Her day job is pastor of York Street United Methodist Church in Cincinnati. 

Jumbo Jr. Farmers was held Monday

The monthly meeting for the Jumbo Jr. Farmers was held Monday, July 10th at the McDonald Township Hall.  The meeting was started by the 4-H Pledge being led by Claire Ketcham and the Pledge of Allegiance which was led by Drew Hoppe.  At the meeting the group was given presentations by Kathryn Osborn on her County Demonstration project and some tips for members while judging.  Our other presentation was given by Claire Ketcham on her cooking project where she made Trail Mix samples for the group to try.  Also at the meeting we finished our fair entries for the upcoming 2017 Hardin County Fair. 

High school girls tennis meeting

High school girls interested in playing tennis this fall meet in media center Thursday (7/13) @ 6 pm. Email Mr. Jochims if can't attend.

Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes 4H meeting held

The Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes 4-H Club held a meeting on Monday, July 10th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hardin Northern Ag Building. Recreation for the evening was playing outside led by Makenna Eibling. Preston Wykes led the 4-H Pledge, and Carl Woodruff led the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were 33 members, 7 advisers, and 4 guests. Clover Award sheets were turned in. Bob McBride went over what should be completed in the individual's books for judging. Vern Woodruff Jr. presented a demonstration on rockets. Carl Woodruff demonstrated his project on Science Chemistry. Heidi Trachsel also gave a presentation on sewing and ironing. Leif Trachsel led trivia.
