When is the town picking up my leaves?

Little by little, the leaves on Ada trees are hitting the ground. Here's this fall's leaf pickup schedule, provided by the village.

The village will pick up leaves according to the following schedule. 

NORTHWEST: Mondays: November 4, 11, 18 and December 2
NORTHEAST: Tuesdays: November 5, 12, 19 and December 3
SOUTHEAST: Wednesdays: November 6, 13, 19 and December 4
SOUTHWEST: Thursdays: Nobvember 7, 14, 21 and December 5

Boots for a dark and stormy night

Friday was a night to get out the boots. Here are four boots belonging to Ada school students. Want to place a guess on the boot owners? These boots were photographed in the front row, 50 yard line during Friday's game against Paulding.

The answer's is a photo below. In case you don't recognize the boot owners, here they are from left, Nicki Lehsten, Maddie Gossard, Alexis Swaney and Teara Coulson.

Area receives over 4 inches of rain since Friday

Yep, that was a lot of rain on Friday. According to Guy Verhoff, Icon weather observer, the area received 2.99 inches of rain on Oct. 4. Here’s the recent seven day report:

Over 200 to attend Grandparents' Day at Apollo Career Center

Apollo Career Center will host over 200 attendees for Grandparents' Day Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1-3 p.m. in the Apollo Commons. Grandparents are invited to tour the labs, participate in some hands-on activities, and share an ice cream sundae and some visiting time with their teenage grandson/daughter. Grandparents can choose to tour the campus and/or participate in some demonstrations in the commons including hand and arm massages by the Cosmetology students.

Ohio Northern University to conduct SMAarts program

Students from five area elementary schools will participate in Ohio Northern University’s SMArts (Saturday Morning Art) enrichment program, learning art and more in the Wilson Art Center on Oct. 26, Nov. 2, and Nov. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Third and fourth grade students from Ada, Bath, Bluffton, Hardin Northern and Perry schools will attend the enrichment programs designed for students interested in the visual arts and creative experience. The SMArts program offers student engagement in a variety of media and activities, including creating handmade paper, photography, drawing and painting.

Men's soccer: Kinkopf scores twice to lead ONU past Mount Union in OAC opener

Freshman Matt Kinkopf  scored twice to lead the No. 14 Ohio Northern men's soccer to team to a 3-0 win over Mount Union in its OAC opener on Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.

The Polar Bears are now 9-2-0 and 1-0-0 in the OAC, while the Purple Raiders fall to 5-6-0, 0-1-0.

Kinkopf now has a team best seven goals on the season.

Senior Stephen Perkins  got ONU on the board just 11 minutes in, when he headed in a cross from sophomore Chase Mueller .

At the 19:22 mark, Kinkopf made it 2-0 in favor of the Polar Bears when scored off of a pass from sophomore Shintaroh Itoh .
