Updates on Klingler Road, Safe Routes to Schools, and Ada sidewalks
Here are three Icon updates on Ada spring projects.
Klingler Road
There will be a preconstruction meeting on April 14 about the $1.2 million Klingler Road project. Construction will probably begin later this month to widen Klingler from the railroad south to Lima Ave., add street lighting, and install a sidewalk along the west side.
Safe Routes to Schools
The village received no bids for the Safe Routes to School project. It will be rebid April 24. This work includes improving sidewalks on Grand from Buckeye to Montford and on Highland from Johnson to Grand. Most of the work includes a new, 1,000 foot long sidewalk along the west side of Grand.
Sidewalks
Eight property owners applied for money to pay half the cost of replacing their sidewalks. It will be determined, after inspection, whether all or part of the requests can be done with the $20,000 allocated by the village on a matching basis with the property owners. However, property owners can apply anytime to help pay for sidewalk replacement in 2016. Call the village office for more information.
