James Engle 1958-2015
James E. Engle, 57, died on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at 12:58 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to Phillip E. and Barbara Ann (Underwood) Engle. His father is deceased and his mother survives in Bluffton, Ohio. He married Tammy J. Watkins on June 15, 2002 and she survives in Gomer.
James worked at General Dynamics for 33 years as a welder. He was a 1976 graduate of Allen East High School. He attended the County Line Church of the Brethren of rural Ada.
Also surviving are a son, Brant Engle of Lima; 3 daughters, Stacy (Tommy) Agler of Lima, Terri (Doug) Brown of Indianapolis, Ind., and Brittany (Steve) Grothouse of Ft. Jennings; a stepson, Michael Culver of Mendon; a stepdaughter, Nicole Salmons of Lima; 8 grandchildren, Paige, Bryce, Blaine, Chloe, Spencer, Eden, Addalynn, and Hudson; a brother, Steve Engle of LaFayette; 3 sisters, Melanie (Bill) Stokes of Lakeview, Donella Engle of LaFayette, and Sondra (Tim) Amstutz of Bluffton; and his grandmother, Mildred Engle of Harrod.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory “Bugs” Engle.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at County Line Church of the Brethren, rural Ada, with Pastor Tom Dearth and Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the County Line Church of the Brethren on Tuesday.
