Lee Prater was retired from Goodwill Industries, Lima
Lee M. Prater, 77, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 12:50 a.m., at Shawnee Manor, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1938 in Hardin County, Ohio to Elmer and Letha (Holbrook) Williams who preceded her in death. On May 29, 1955, she married Wilford “Wayne” Prater and he died Aug. 17, 2004.
Lee was a homemaker and previously retired from Goodwill Industries in Lima, where she worked as the store manager. She was a member of the Alger United Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother that went by Grandma Gordy and was also known as Aunt D.
Also surviving are three sons: Dennis Prater of Lima, David Prater of Harrod and Fred (Myndy) Prater of Richardson, Texas; and a daughter, Zora Keasler of Harrod; 12 grandchildren: Angie Miller, Amy Millirans, Kim Voegele, Brad Prater, Tasha Van Horn, Chad Williams, Ben Hardesty, Jennifer Anderson, Adam Prater, Jessica Prater, Josh Prater, and Jared Prater; and eighteen great grandchildren; a brother Estill (Jean) Williams of Ada; and a sister, Isana Kay Shepherd of McGuffey.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Keasler and brother-in-law, Gene Shepherd.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Elder Freddie Preston officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.on Tuesday, May 10, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
