Earl L. Webb 1929-2012
Earl L. Webb, 83, died at 8:22 p.m. Nov. 3, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Floyd County, Ky., to Wheeler and Lucy Snipes Webb, who preceded him in death. On May 19, 1978, he married Sandra Kay Spencer Whitaker, who survives in Harrod.
Mr. Webb was an engine lathe machinist and retired from Teledyne Ohio Steel of Lima after 29 years. He was a member of Harrod United Methodist Church; Lima Memorial Health System Auxillary; United Auto Workers union Local 975, Lima; Waynesfield Masonic Lodge 569 F&AM; LaFayette Order of the Easter Star Chapter 121; and Wapakoneta Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691.
Survivors also include six sons, Kenneth (Sandra) Webb, of Lima, Michael (Janell) Webb, of Harrod, Steven Ray (Diana) Webb, of Harrod, David (Jean) Webb, of Lima, Steven Whitaker, of Harrod, and Douglas (Amanda) Whitaker, of Harrod; a sister, Maggie (Russell) Prater, of McGuffey; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Webb, of Dola, and Janet (Pete) Molina, of Harrod; and 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Webb; two brothers, Elmer Eugene Webb and infant brother, Luther Webb; a sister, Mayme Wells; and a stepmother, Celia Dotson Webb.
Service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Pastor Roger Emerson will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service by Waynesfield Masonic Lodge 369 F&AM will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harrod United Methodist Church and/or Maysville United Methodist Church.
