ONU among best in Ohio bar passage rate
Graduates of the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law continued their record of outstanding achievement on the Ohio bar examination with a passage rate of 89 percent, which ranks second among students from all Ohio law schools who took the examination in 2012 and highest among all private Ohio law schools.
ONU’s passage rate was well above the overall passage rate of 80.8 percent.
In addition, 91 percent of Ohio Northern’s graduates who were taking the test for the first time passed the test, which is higher than the overall first-time passage rate of 85 percent statewide.
“We are very proud of our graduates,” said Stephen Veltri, interim dean of the College of Law. “These fine results are a mark of their industry and ability, and we are confident they will be a credit to the Ohio bar.”
The new attorneys will be sworn in during a special public session of the Supreme Court at the Ohio Theatre in Columbus on Monday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
