Campbell's career-high 14 points helps in ONU win

Senior Amauria Campbell (Cincinnati/Summit Country Day) scored a career-high and game-high 14 points to help the No. 9-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team stay undefeated and defeat Heidelberg 82-49.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-0 overall and 9-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes fall to 6-10, 3-6.
Campbell added six rebounds and two assists in the victory.
Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) tied Campbell with a game-high 14 points four assists and four rebounds for Northern.
Senior Angela Tesny (Medina) grabbed a team-best seven rebounds to lead Northern defensively.
After falling in a quick 6-0 hole, Northern responded with a 17-2 run to grab a 17-6 lead after one quarter.
After a layup from junior Cheyenne Raker (Columbus/Westerville South) gave Northern a comfortable 35-19 lead in the second quarter, the Student Princes would close the half on a 6-2 spurt to close the gap to 37-25 at the half.
HU would score the first two points of the third quarter before Northern would use 23-2 run behind three 3-pointers from Campbell to take a commanding 62-29 lead with 3:56 remaining in the third quarter.
Northern would see its lead grow to as many as 36 points after sophomore Shannon Jack (Akron/St. Vincent St. Mary) sunk a free throw with 1:45 remaining in the contest.
Northern would go on to win the contest 82-49.
The Polar Bears shot 35-of-66 (53.0 percent) from the field, including 9-of-18 (50.0 percent) from the 3-point line.
Heidelberg was led by senior Marisa Limburdi with 12 points and eight rebounds.
The undefeated Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they travel to Mount Union to take on the Purple Raiders at 3 pm.
