Richards gains OAC honor...again
The junior had another record breaking week for the Polar Bears (44-8 overall).
She competed in the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday afternoon in Allendale, Mich.
Richards posted the sixth fastest time in Div. III history in the 1-mile run and finished second overall and was the first collegiate athlete to cross the finish line in a race that featured schools from Div. I, II and III.
Richards finished second overall in 4:47.26 in the meet and also shattered the previous Ohio Northern school record held by former Polar Bear Alison Steinbrunner by over 11 seconds.
The junior currently owns the fastest time in the country in both the 800-meter run and the 1-mile run.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they compete in the Mount Union Raider Tune Up meet with events set to begin at 12 pm.
