Kathryn Dale 1921-2012
Kathryn Dale, 91, died at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Delaware Court Health Center, Delaware, Ohio.
She was born on March 6, 1921 in Magoffin County, Ky., to the late Kash Holbrook and Grace (Jackson) Haney. On Sept. 15, 1937, she married Leonard Dale, and he died on Oct. 26, 2003.
Kathryn was a homemaker and had previously worked at Artcraft Manufacturing of Lima. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 121 of Lafayette; the Harrod Garden Club; the Harrod Civic Club; the Harrod Craft Club; and the Craftette club.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Angie) Dale, of Delaware; two daughters, Betty Jones, of Michigan City, Ind., and Carolyn (Russell) Meermans, of Toano, Va.; two brothers, B.F. Holbrook and Harry Thomas Holbrook, both of Salyersville, Ky.; two sisters, Sue (Robert) Clover, of Ft. Shawnee and Kashetta (Phillip) Caudill, of Salyersville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Henry Haney, Ray Holbrook and Roy Holbrook.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. Pastor Gary Rummel will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial Service by the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 121 of LaFayette, Ohio, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
