OCTOBER 1938:

Harley Messick bought the Sale 5c to $1.00 store from Marion Sale. The store was located at 113 North Main Street. Harley had been manager for Mr. Sale.

A permanent band stand of natural stone is under construction at the southwest corner of the Ada railroad park, a joint project of the council and civic organizations. It replaces an old wooden bandstand with a structure designed to enhance the appearance of the park.

October 27-28-29 the Ada Harvest Festival was held. A special feature for Friday was goat racing. The goats were from the Lucas Derby goats from Greenwood, Indiana, the only racing stable of goats in the world
