ONU Marching Band to perform at Freed Center Sunday
The Ohio Northern University Marching Band will present a concert featuring its music from the 2017 season at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 in the Freed Center.
Admission is $20 for adults, $15 or faculty and staff members, and $5 for students and children. Tickets are available at the Freed Center box office between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, online at www.FreedCenter.com, or by calling 419-772-1900. Tickets also are also available prior to the performance.
The ONU marching band, “The Star of Northwest Ohio,” will perform a variety of iconic music from its premiere show, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” Concertgoers will hear John Williams’ famous “The Raider’s March,” Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now (Theme from ‘Rocky’)” and many more.
The band also will perform its second show, “Northern Nights,” which includes “Some Nights” by Fun as arranged by field conductor Adam Grim and “In the Heat of the Night” by Quincy Jones, featuring guest vocalist Adriane Thompson Bradshaw, vice president for student affairs at Ohio Northern.
The band is under the direction of Dr. Charles Bates. Besides Grim as the field commander, Jordyn Walkup is the guard captain and Brittney Masters is the twirler captain. The drumline captain is Brayden Dunn. The auxiliaries are directed by Stephanie Martin and Tyler Overy.
