Two big events in Ada Saturday
This is Family Weekend at ONU as well as Harvest and Herb Fest downtown. Many parents will be wandering around the Festival booths with their students between activities on campus.
Family Weekend includes these activities on Saturday:
· 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 33rd annual Harvest and Herb Festival on Main Street The event features a parade, about 180 craft booths, food vendors and live entertainment. Booths open at 9 a.m. and the parade begins at 10 a.m.
· 10 a.m. to noon. Fine Arts Exhibition. Display of art created by ONU’s students outside of the Wilson Art Building.
· 11 a.m. Bingo on the lawn outside of Dicke Hall.
· 11 a.m. Tailgate on the Tundra. Food on the heart of campus.
· 3 p.m. Bright Pink 5K Race for the Cure. Picnic Pavilion on west campus near the baseball stadium. The race, which is sponsored by Kappa Epsilon, Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Zeta Tau Alpha, supports Bright Pink, the only national nonprofit organization for the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer.
· 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Polar Bear Bash. Inflatables, food trucks and more on the tundra, located on the heart of campus near the chapel and residence halls.
· 8 p.m. Comedian Eric O’Shea will perform in the McIntosh Ballroom.
Traditionally, ONU holds Family Weekend the same day as the village’s Harvest and Herb Fest.
