OAC Field Athlete of the Week
Junior All-American Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week for women's indoor track and field, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
On Friday evening, the junior pole vault specialist opened her 2019 indoor track and field campaign with a 3.76-meter clearance to claim the individual event title at the Tiffin Dragon Open, held at NCAA Division II institution Tiffin University. Her effort currently tops the Ohio Athletic Conference performance list, standing 0.32 meters (1' 0.5") better than the league's second-best mark, and ranks third among all NCAA Division III competitors.
The 2018 outdoor All-American's clearance also ranks second all-time among junior student-athletes in program history.
With the announcement, Krause receives her first career OAC Field Athlete of the Week nod and the first accolade for the Ohio Northern women's track and field program this season.
The Polar Bears will continue their indoor slate this Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26 at the two-day Findlay Indoor Track and Field Classic.
