Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh featured speaker for 11th CommunityREAD
Author Vanessa Diffenbaugh will speak at Winebrenner Auditorium in Findlay on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the library’s check-out desk for $5 and at the door the evening of the presentation.
Her appearance is the feature event for the eleventh annual CommunityREAD.
CommunityREAD is a month-long community event that encourages reading and promotes the benefits of literacy.
Originally created by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, the administration of CommunityREAD was assumed by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library in 2012.
Each year, a different book is chosen and read by community members during the month of March. Various events are planned throughout the month at the library and throughout the community.
This year "The Language of Flowers", Vanessa Diffenbaugh's debut novel, was selected to be read and discussed by the entire community.
The book creates a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others as she struggles to overcome her difficult youth in the foster care system and adult homelessness.
Copies of the book are available for loan at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library.
