It's going to be a busy Ada autumn
Autumn will be busy in Ada. That’s according to lots of information shared at the Aug. 21 Ada Area Chamber of Commerce meeting.
Here’s an overview, provided by Jill Simons, chamber secretary.
• ONU's Welcome Fest is Sunday, Aug. 25, at King Horn Sports Center. It welcomes students to Ada and provides information on organizations and the community. The chamber has Pocket County small booklets from the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance to distribute. The information includes small businesses and national chains that offer merchandise and food in Hardin County.
• ReStore will close the week of the Hardin County Fair and will reopen with a new name on Tuesday, Sept. 1, during a 3 p.m. celebration.
• The ONU James Lehr-Kennedy Engineering Building dedication weekend is Oct. 10-12. Watch the Icon for more details on this event.
• The Harvest and Herb Festival is Saturday, Sep 21. New this year is a kids’ area, which includes a 38-foot obstacle course, face painters and pony rides. All kids’ events are free.
Vendors will be on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A parade is at 10 a.m. with line up at the Ada school parking lot starting at 9 a.m.
