Three area law enfocement agencies executed another search warrant at the apartment of Deyond White of 102 N. Main St., Apartment 5, Ada, in connection with an on-going investigation.

The warrants were executed by Ada Police Department, Kenton Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 27.

Michael Harnishfeger, Ada police chief said that officers recovered and seized over $6,000 in stolen items including couches, bedroom furniture, television, jewelry, clothing and other miscellaneous items that were purchased through stolen identities and credit card fraud.

Deyond White is currently being housed at the multi-county jail in Marion  on charges of possession of $50,000 in counterfeit money. He will now face multiple counts of theft, identity theft and credit card fraud.

Harnishfeger said, "This arrest is particularly satisfying as the crime of identity theft can be very difficult to resolve."

Ada police broke up a counterfeit ring on Aug. 21, when, at approximately 3 p.m., officers  executed a search warrant at 102 ½ N. Main St., Apartment 5,  as part of an on-going investigation into the passing of counterfeit money.

Upon executing the warrant, the tenant and subject of this investigation was not home, however officers did recover approximately $50,000 in counterfeit currency along with items believed to have been purchased with counterfeit currency.

The subject was later discovered in Kenton, where he was placed into custody.  Arrested was Deyond Markus Marvin White, currently residing in Ada.

White was charged with possessing counterfeit money with additional charges likely.  Due to the amount of counterfeit money on hand, White may be charged with a Felony of the 3rd Degree.

The Ada Police Department was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Secret Service.
