Ada golfers 3rd in tough NWC quad

BLUFFTON - The Ada golf team finished a solid third in a four-team Northwest Conference battle Wednesday at the Bluffton Golf Course.

Co-host Bluffton won with just 171 strokes, followed by Lincolnview (183), Ada (207) and Delphos Jefferson (210).

Senior Alex Morgan paced the Bulldogs by shooting a 47. Other than one bad stretch on the second hole, Morgan shot 36 over the other eight holes.

Junior Brevin Sizemore was second for Ada with a total of 52.

Senior Ethan Hull, sophomore Dexter Woods and junior Jacob Morgan each tied for third on the Bulldog squad with identical rounds of 54.

Sophomore Kamron Wilkerson added a 68 to round out the Ada scores.

Pirate Drew Wilson fired a 40 to capture match medalist honors. Teammate Kenny Lovett was second with a 42. Micah Minnig tallied a 44, while Jared Piercefield and Jaden Coonfare each carded scores of 45 for well-balanced Bluffton.

The Ada record is now 4-13 overall and 2-7 in NWC play this season. Bluffton improved to 22-0 overall and 10-0 in NWC play. Jefferson is 9-11 and 4-8 in the NWC, while Lincolnview is 6-3 in league play.

The Bulldogs are slated to play in a league triangular at Paulding with Delphos Jeff September 10.
