Penny Emerick 1960 -2019
Penny S. Emerick, 59, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at 8:22 a.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1960, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Oren and Pauline “Pug” (Dyer) Wright. Penny was previously married to the late Tom Emerick and they were divorced.
Penny worked for Chief Supermarket, Lima, as a cashier.
She is survived by her brother, Tracy Wright of Kenton; two sisters: Sherry (Doug) Sauer of Findlay and Patty Burkheimer of Lima; five nieces and nephews: Scott Sauer, Lisa (Dennis) Messmore, Doug (Amber) Sauer, Jr., Chad (Katie) Burkheimer and Dyllan Burkheimer; and seven great nieces and nephews.
A graveside burial of ashes will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Teresa Wenrick officiating in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Penny loved children and animals and the family would appreciate in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105, and/or the Allen County Humane Society, 3606 Elida Road, Lima, Ohio 45807.
