Elks students of the month

Ada and Upper Scioto Valley students recognized for January and February

Four Ada High School students and three Upper Scioto Valley students received recognition from the Kenton Elks Lodge 157 as their school's students of the months for January and February.

Students from each school in Hardin County are recognized each month. This was the second group of students recognized for 2019-2020 school year by the Elks.

A partial listing of individual student activities is included here:

Ada students

January

Kendal Guagenti, daughter of Francis and Kim Guagenti. School activities include student council president, National Honors Society, language club, volleyball, track, tennis, Makerfest (including first prize) and ethics bowl. She plans on going to college to pursue a degree in biology.

Anthony Williams, son of Jeffrey and Elise Williams. School activities include soccer (including Rookie of the year award), track, Makerfest, and National Honors Society. After graduation, he plans on serving a 2-year church mission project and then pursue a degree in engineering, business or language.

February

Josephine Polling, daughter of Kyle and Lori Polling. School activities include Varsity Singers, volleyball, drama club, FFA, language club, National Honors Society and film club. She plans on attending Bowling Green State University to study business.

Nathan Hurtig, son of Mike and Julie Hurtig. School activities include marching band, tennis, concert band, Varsity Singers band, golf, jazz band, Makerfest (including two first place award), National Honors Society and ethics bowl. He plans on pursuing a degreen in mechanical engineering degree, aspiring to a master's degree.

Upper Scioto Valley students

January

Briona June Hurley, daughter of Nick and Tasha Hurley. School activities include student council, National Honors Society, basketball, volleyball, cheer, and softball. Hurley plans on attending Rhodes State to gain a degree as a physical therapist assistant.  

Jozlynn Ross, daughter of Jerad and Alecia Ross. School activities include powderpuff, softball, volleyball (including captain of team this year), quiz bowl, FFA, and student council.  She would like to go to college to become a physical therapist.

Olivia Whiting, daughter of Jeff and Alex Elliott. School activities include student council, soccer, basketball, FFA, National Honors Society, powderpuff, as well as being a student helper. She plans to attend OSU Lima branch majoring in Early Childhood Education.
