School board planning session focus includes facilities and athletics

Ada school board approved several actions affecting the 2020-21 school year at its Feb. 20 board meeting.
In addition, it held a planning session with the discussion lasting for one hour and 17 minutes focusing on facilities, athletics and “miscellaneous” items.
During the meeting, the board entered three executive sessions. The first for 16 minutes, the second for 59 minutes and the third for 35 minutes.
Among items approved in open session include affecting 2020-21:
• membership in the Ohio School Athletic Association
• open enrollment guidelines
• program of studies for grades 7 and 8 and 8 through 12
• participation in College Credit Plus program with Ohio Northern University
• NWOET contract
Board-approved items for the current school year include:
• salary adjustments for certified contracts of Alayne Schrock and Tabitha McPeeks
• Ashley Breidenbach as a volunteer in Partners in Education program
• service agreement with Midwest Regional Educational Service Center for behavior coach services
• rescinding supplemental contract for Gabe Sutton as assistant baseball coach
• approved supplemental contract for Dexter Woods tennis coach
• administrative contract to Tim Garmon, buildings and grounds, maintenance and transportation supervisor
The board accepted the resignation of Chris Christopher, classified employee, who will retire in June.
