Ada site of Friday West Ohio Food Bank distribution
THIS STORY IS UNDATED WITH A TIME CHANGE - The February West Ohio Food Bank's Hardin County food distribution takes place from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 19, at the Dial-Roberson Stadium on the ONU campus, according to Jason Aldrich.
He said that the distribution dates and times are subject to changes due to weather conditions.
Enter on Klingler Road. To received food persons must be 18 or older, have a valid photo ID and proof of residency, be at or below 230 percent of the federal poverty guidelines and sign and eligibility to take food home form.
During an earlier food distribution in Ada, 100 families, most from Hardin County, were served. The West Ohio Food Bank distributed 38,356 pounds of food during the afternoon.
Aldrich asks that participants have their trucks or truck bed cleaned out as volunteers will not move items to load food into vehicles.
West Ohio Food Bank, based at 1366 E. Kibby St., Lima, serves an 11-county area.
The county’s distribution is sponsored by the food bank and United Way of Hardin County.
According to the food bank’s website the following facts and figures relate to Hardin County food distribution:
• 351,214 annual pound of food distributed
• 292,678 meals distributed
• $16,912 Shared maintenance fees paid by partner agencies
