Polar Bear cross country season opens Sept. 4
The Ohio Northern men's and women's cross country teams will open their 2021 seasons on Sept. 4 by hosting the Polar Bear Invitational on the ONU campus under 12th-year head coach Jason Maus.
This marks the first time since 2012 that the Polar Bears have opened their season with a home meet.
Northern will then run on consecutive Fridays, competing at the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville on Sept. 17 and at the Findlay Oiler Invite on Sept. 24.
The Louisville (Ky.) Classic follows Oct. 2 and the Oberlin Rumble on Oct. 16 ends the regular season.
Wilmington will host the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Oct. 30. The NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional will take place in Shelbyville, Ind., Nov. 13, and the National Championships will be run Nov. 20 in Louisville.
Ohio Northern's 2020 seasons were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, Northern's men finished 99-53 overall and were fourth in the OAC, while ONU's women were fourth in the OAC and finished with a 99-35 overall record.
